Monday Blues

Spent the whole day contemplating what to do at the office, which is harder than it seems when you ARE at the office.

There's nothing easier than Sundays, and nothing harder than Mondays.

****

Btw., in an attempt to look productive, I opened Google Images and typed in "Monday Blues". Here's what I got.

Funny story of the day: Si Andy

Courtesy of my sister, Jeng

She was in Dapitan, near UST, with her new husband, Chito, shopping for native furniture for their new house in Connecticut. They’ve never been there and was having a tough time looking for the right shop so they pulled over, opened the window and asked this scrappy-looking fruit vendor sitting along the street.

“Manong, saan po ba yung mga Handycrafts?”

It took sometime for him to answer [Isip…isip…], looking at his apples and mangoes for knowledge, and then with great relief he enthusiastically replied:

“AHH, si Andy Craft, yung maputing nag tra-tricycle, nakita ko sya kanina, doon sya nakatira sa…”

My sister decided not to wait for him to finish his response, closed the window, and drove away laughing hysterically.

Poor Andy, I wonder how many misinformed tourists drop by his house everyday looking for rattan furniture.

Hello!

Welcome to my blog site. Kamusta kayo?

It feels weird writing this blog, knowing that the only audience right now is just… me. It almost feels narcissistic, then again I guess that’s why people like making blogs.

You can call me Tuny. I was not born with it, but was rather given to me by my friend Justine about 4-5 years ago, and it has stuck with me ever since. With gratitude, I named her “Juz”, “Jaz”, “Juzzy”, and “Queen Latifah” in return (not for the looks, but for the attitude girl, snap-snap-snap!). To make it sound cool, I tried a number of spelling varieties on it, such as “Tunyh”, “Thuny”, Thuneeeh”, however no matter how many “H” and “Es” I add, it still sounds “Looney”… I guess that’s why they like calling me this name.

And why Tuny's Fishbowl? If you're looking at this from a computer monitor (and I'm sure you are), I'm the fish and welcome to my life!

[Btw., I would have wanted people to call me “Toy Boy”, “Hot Dude”, “Hot Papa” and “Beef Cake” but I guess Tuny is OK for now, that is until I grow more chest hair]

More about me next time.
