Pam: So.. Sino flag bearer ng Philippines?
Tuny: E di si Goma.

Napanood nyo ba? Kainis yung presenter sa One News, parang nag CR nung Philippine Team na ang nagmartsa.

Hell's MaryAnn Salcedo, Pinay?

Is Mary Ann the Sous Chef at Hell's season 1 to 3, Pinay? Hmmm, masarap siguro adobo nito.

I read palaban daw ito:
She is now taking on a new role at NeoMeze in Pasadena, and talking about her time on Hell's Kitchen in a way that doesn't sound promising for her return. She does say that working with Gordon Ramsay was an honor, but that she found attempting to “teach waffle-house cooks” (a reference to third season chef contestant Julia Williams) absurd.-- Source.

I Dream of Home

I just read a blog entry from Jinkee where she talks about her dreams of Manila.

I also have similar dreams, but mine are closer to home. I once dreamed of carrying my daughter Lexi, and how happy I was when I felt how big and heavy she has grown(despite not seeing her since March). I also dreamed of taking Julia to the playground. When I left, I had to push her since she didn't know how to make it move. In my dream, she raced me swing for swing.

Extremely homesick? Not really.

I'm not saying that I don't miss them (I'd shave my head to be home now). You see, I often dream when I start missing.

I think dreaming is our subconscious' way of coping and realizing. Our mind is like a wide basin on a pole, and memories and emotions are the water that slowly fill it. Dreams spills the water so slightly, it keeps the basin from falling.

Dreaming, I guess, keeps us sane.

Hopefully I won't have to dream of home often, because I will be in 27 days.

Playing in my mind:
One dream, one soul
One prize, one goal
One golden glance of what should be
Its a kind of magic

On Men and Women Hunting...

A man and a woman were asked to go shopping for clothes for a hunting trip.

What did they get?

Will catch a goat.

Will catch a bloke

While women shop (Hon, binili ko kasi it looked lonely on the shelf, last pair na sya eh. At Look! It matches my hairclip... ), us men hunt.

We stalk our prey for weeks, and being efficient hunters, go for the biggest, most beautiful prize. We research, compare, let it sleep, and allow our primieval instinct to tell us when to strike. We know that although it may cost more, it will last longer than the next sale(thus actually cheaper) and do its purpose (not just look good).

And besides, we have to make it count. We're only allowed one kill (Pam: Hindi mo naman kailangan yan eh! Ibili na lang natin ng gatas...).

Got these at Bivouac New Market on sale (NZ$250, less NZ$80). Lightweight, dries fast, breathable (has an inner Goretex membrane), and has knarly traction. I used it on a muddy tramp/hike up at the Hunua Ranges and stuck like rubber, except when the slush got deeper than the shoe. Its specs are so excellent, it might even save my life one day.

Ok-ok!! I'm just trying to justify buying an expensive shoe (Pam, It's Ben's fault!).

Are you smarter than a 10 year old?

Me, apparently not. While in Western Springs, feeding the birds with the Laserna family:

Tuny: Maymay! Sa palagay mo ba eh pag pinagtabi mo yang manok
na yan, at isang manok sa Pilipinas, eh magkakaintindihan
sila???

Maymay: Eh syempre inde ninong nohhhh!!!!

Tuny: Owzzzz...

Happy Feet: Soundtrack of my life

I own an MP3 player, and personally think its the best thing that happened to running since the invention of the water bottle.

It wakes you up. It motivates you.

All your dreams are made
When you're chained to your mirror with your razor blade
Today's the day that all the world will see
Need a little time to wake up
Need a little time to rest your mind
What's the story morning glory
[Morning Glory, Oasis]

It pumps you up.

Im the trouble starter, punkin instigator
Im the fear addicted, danger illustrated
Im a firestarter, twisted firestarter
[Firestarter, Prodigy]

Keeps you company.

I tried to give you up
But I'm addicted
Now that you know
I'm trapped sense of elation
Breaking this fixation
You will squeeze the life out of me
[Time Is Running Out, Muse]

It paces you.

Messin with my mind, I wake up
Chase down an empty street
Blindly snap the broken beats
Said it's gone with the dirty trick
It's taken all these days to find ya
I tell you I want you
[Club Foot, Kasabian]

It keeps you going...

Go write your message on the pavement
Burnin' so bright I wonder what the wave meant
White heat is screaming in the jungle
Complete the motion if you stumble
The world I love, The tears I drop
To be part of, The wave can't stop
Ever wonder if it's all for you
[Can't Stop, Red Hot Chili Peppers]

And keeps you going...

Life goin nowhere. Somebody help me.
Life goin nowhere.
Somebody help me, yeah.
stayin alive.
Youre stayin alive,
stayin alive.
[Stayin Alive, Beegees]

Nagtatanong lang po: What's running in your MP3 today?

(Instead of Koooo...koooo... eh Kiiii... kiii...)

Oh mga bastos ang isip, tsk-tsk...
